Description

They have a thick black coat, with lighter coloration around the face. This primate features claw-like nails on all toes except the thumb and a long tail. All this allows them to jump up to 4 meters horizontally without losing height.

Die Tiere besitzen kräftige, Z-förmige Hinterbeine und einen muskulösen Schwanz, mit dem sie beim Springen das Gleichgewicht halten können. Sie haben einen schmalen Kopf, eine lange Nase und lange, spitze Ohren.Die vorderen Gliedmaßen sind verkürzt und tragen Krallen. Die Männchen haben ein rötlich-braunes Fell, während die Weibchen in der Regel bläulich-grau sind. Beide sind auf der Unterseite heller.

Mittelgroße Echse mit einem relativ großen Kopf. Bei den Männchen befindet sich ein kleiner Kehlsack am Hals. Der Schwanz ist mehr als doppelt so lang wie der Körper. Die Tiere haben einen Kamm am Hals und ein Paar kleine Stacheln am Trommelfell. Die Körperfarbe ist im Allgemeinen hellbraun. Der Rücken hat einen breiten braunen Streifen mit einem gelblichen Seitenband. Männchen haben in der Fortpflanzungszeit eine rote Färbung an Kopf und Hals und schwarze Flecken auf den Schultern.

Description

It is medium sized with a relatively large head, in males there is a small gular sac in the throat. Its tail is more than twice the length of its body. It has a crest on the neck and a pair of small spines on the tympanum. Body colour is generally light brown. The back has a broad brown stripe with a yellowish lateral band. Breeding males have a red colour on the head and neck with black spots on the shoulders.

Los machos tienen pelaje marrón rojizo, mientras que las hembras suelen ser de color gris azulado. Ambos son de un color blanquecino más claro por debajo. Tienen una cabeza estrecha, nariz larga y orejas largas y puntiagudas. Presentan unas extremidades superiores acortadas con garras. Poseen poderosas patas traseras y en forma de Z y una cola fuerte que usan para ayudar a equilibrar el cuerpo mientras saltan.
