Serval
Leptailurus serval

Description
A medium-sized feline with a long neck and long, slender legs that enable them to run at high speeds. They have orange fur with black stripes and spots, while their belly is a soft white colour. They have excellent hearing, thanks to their enormous ears.
Behaviour
It is a solitary and territorial animal. They are crepuscular to avoid the heat of the day. The mother can give birth to between two and four cubs after two and a half months of gestation. She will take care of them on her own. When the males reach approximately 6 months of age, the mother will expel them from her territory, while the female cubs can stay until they are two years old.
Interesting facts
Although the species is not endangered, it has disappeared from some regions at the local level. Its main threats are the destruction and degradation of its habitat and illegal trafficking for sale as pets. This animal is extremely agile and loves to climb, jump and swim.
