Description

Adults have reddish beaks and feet. Their plumage is mainly a reddish brown, both sides of the head and the upper area of the neck being grey, and the lower section of the chest being a lighter grey. The chest and belly are black, and on the lower section of the wings there is a wide white strip. There is no difference between sexes.

Jest to jaszczurka o tęgim korpusie o czarnawo-brązowym kolorze z niebieskawymi pasemkami. Ma poprzeczne pasy składające się z żółtych plamek o różnej wielkości, które docierają do czubka ogona. Również na głowie, szyi i kończynach obserwuje się szereg żółtych plam.
Jego ogon jest prawie tak długi jak reszta jego ciała.

Jest to zwierzę prowadzące dzienny tryb życia i chowa się w wykopanych przez siebie, przy użyciu pazurów i tylnych łap, jaskiniach, aby spędzić tam zimę. Świetnie pływa i wspina się.

La coda è lunga quasi quanto il resto del corpo.

Si tratta di un animale diurno che si rifugia nelle grotte scavate da esso stesso, usando gli artigli delle sue zampe posteriori, per trascorrere l’inverno. Sono ottimi nuotatori e scalatori.

BESCHREIBUNG
