Description

Large lizard with an elongated head and neck. It presents a typical dark brown body colour with yellow spots, and the rows of stains that give the species its name, can be found touring the entire dorsal section of the body. 
The underside of the animal is also yellow. The fingers and toes have very sharp claws. The tongue is forked and blue.

 

Behaviour

It is diurnal and terrestrial species although sometimes we can find them in the trees thanks to theis flexibility.
The putting is of 8 - 10 eggs.

 

Interesting Facts

This species is not a threat in the wild although populations are declining due to habitat loss, illegal sale as a pet and ingestion of an invasive amphibian as this species cannot digest it well.
