Rabbit

Description

The rabbit is small and its body is covered in long and very thick hair. The head is large and elongated with very large ears in comparison to the rest of the body. The eyes situated on the side of the head give them a very wide angle of vision. Their front legs are shorter than the back, allowing them to jump very far.

Ethology

They are very territorial and prefer to remain hidden most of the time; in the wild they live in burrows in fact. They are mainly active at night and if they feel threatened, they will freeze to the spot until the threat has disappeared. If they get angry or excited they will hit their rear legs against the floor. 

Interesting facts

A rabbit’s teeth will never stop growing, which is why it is very important, if you have a rabbit as a pet, to provide it with pieces of wood so that it can gnaw on it and wear out its incisors.
