BESCHREIBUNG

Er ist eine mittelgroße Antilope. Das Männchen hat zwei lange Mähnen, eine am Rücken und die andere vom Kinn bis zum Bauch. Die Farbe der Männchen reicht von einem hellen bis zu einem Schokoladenbraun, das sich mit zunehmendem Alter verdunkelt. Nur die Männchen haben Hörner, die lang und spiralförmig sind. Das Weibchen ist kleiner, hat ein braunes Fell und auffällige weiße Streifen.

C’est une antilope de taille moyenne. Le mâle est pourvu de deux longues crinières, une sur le dos et l’autre allant du menton à la poitrine. Sa couleur varie du châtain clair au brun chocolat qui s’obscurcit avec l’âge. Seul le mâle a des cornes qui sont longues et en spirale. La femelle est plus petite avec un pelage châtain et des rayures blanches caractéristiques.

Description
It is a medium sized antelope. The male has two long manes: one on the back and the other from the chin to the stomach. The males vary in colour from light chestnut to chocolate brown, which darkens with age. The males have horns, which are long and spiralled. The female is smaller with chestnut fur and distinctive white stripes.

Ethology
They are mainly active during the day and are found in pairs or small groups of 3 to 15 members. They have a gestation of 8 and a half months after which they usually have a single calf.

Es un antílope de tamaño mediano. El macho presenta dos melenas largas; una por la espalda y la otra desde la barbilla hasta el estómago. Los machos varían en color desde un castaño claro hasta un marrón chocolate que se oscurece con la edad. Solo los machos presentan cuernos, éstos son largos y en espiral. La hembra es más pequeña con un pelaje castaño y rayas blancas llamativas.

OPIS

Są naczelnymi brązowego lub szaro-brązowego koloru. Mają kępki włosów na czubku głowy, które przypominają czepek lub mały kapelusz, od którego pochodzi ich nazwa. Istnieją dwa podgatunki, jeden z nich ma ciemniejszy, a drugi jaśniejszy brzuch.

Primate di colore marrone o grigio bruno. Presenta sulla sommità della testa ciuffi di pelo che ricordano un tupè o un berretto, da cui deriva il nome. Ci sono due sottospecie, una di queste presenta uno stomaco più scuro e l’altra uno stomaco chiaro.

Indische Hutaffen sind braune oder graubraune Primaten. Sie haben Haarbüschel auf dem Kopf, die an ein Toupet oder einen kleinen Hut erinnern, daher ihr Name. Es gibt zwei Unterarten, von denen die eine einen dunkleren Bauch und die andere einen helleren Bauch hat.

It is a brown or greyish-brown colour primate. It has tufts of hair on the upper part of the head reminiscent of a toupee or small hat, from which its name is taken. There are two subspecies, one with a darker stomach and the other with a paler stomach.
