Beschreibung

Der Nandu ist der größte in Südamerika beheimatete Laufvogel Sein graubraunes Gefieder ist am Rücken und am Hals dunkler gefleckt, Bauch und Oberschenkeln sind weißlich gefärbt. Die Weibchen sind kleiner als die Männchen und ihr Federkleid ist einheitlich hellgrau. Die Beine sind grau und haben drei nach vorne gerichteten Zehen, die zur Verteidigung verwendet werden.

C'est l'oiseau le plus grand d'Amérique latine. Son plumage est de couleur marron gris, avec des taches plus foncées sur le cou et la partie supérieure du dos et des plumes blanchâtres sur les muscles et l'abdomen. Les femelles sont plus petites que les mâles et leur plumage est uniquement gris clair. Leurs pattes sont grises avec trois doigts dirigés vers l'avant dont ils se servent pour se défendre.

The rhea is the largest bird in South America. Its plumage is a greyish brown, with darker patches on the neck and upper back, and with whitish feathers on the thigh and abdomen. The females are smaller than the males and their plumage is light grey all over. The legs are grey with three toes facing forward, which they use to defend themselves.

Es el ave más grande e América del Sur. Su plumaje es color marrón grisáceo, con manchas más oscuras en el cuello y en la espalda superior y con plumas blanquecinas en los muslos y el abdomen. Las hembras son más pequeñas que los machos y su plumaje es completamente gris claro. Las patas son grises con tres dedos dirigidos hacia adelante los cuales los usan como defensa.

Etologia

Rozmnaża się w koloniach które mogą liczyć dziesiątki, setki czy nawet tysiące par. Buduje gniazda na wysokich drzewach. Samica zazwyczaj składa 2-3 jaja, ich liczba może dojść do 5. Jaj są wysiadywane przez 29-31 dni przez samca i samicę.

È un uccello dall'aspetto sgraziato, ha la testa e il collo quasi senza piume e il becco massiccio a forma acuminata, che può arrivare fino a 30 cm di lunghezza. Da notare anche la borsa della gola, grande e dilatabile, di colore rossastro. Il piumaggio del resto del corpo è grigio, nero e bianco.

Der linkisch aussehende Marabu, auch Kropfstorch genannt, hat fast unbefiederte Hals und Kopf und einen mächtigen, keilförmigen Schnabel, der bis 30 Zentimeter lang sein kann. Charakteristisch ist auch der rote Kehlsack, der nicht als Kropf sondern lediglich als Balzsignal dient. Der restliche Körper ist von einem grau, schwarz und weiß gefärbten Federkleid bedeckt.
