Description

The radiated tortoise is considered as one of the most beautiful in the world. It has a dark shell with bright yellow lines radiating from the centre of each plate of the shell. The legs and head are yellow, except the upper section of the head which is a darker colour. Their young are black and whitish, but quickly change to the adult colouration.

La tortuga radiada es considerada como una de las más bonitas del mundo. Presenta un caparazón oscuro con líneas amarillas brillantes que irradian desde el centro de cada escudo. Las patas y la cabeza son de color amarillo, excepto la parte superior de la cabeza que es de color más oscuro. Las crías son de color negro y blanquecino, pero rápidamente cambian a la coloración del adulto.

Między osobnikami obu płci występują tak duże różnice, że początkowo były one sklasyfikowane jako różne gatunki. Samce mają kolorowy dziób, zielone upierzenie z czerwonymi i niebieskimi piórami na skrzydłach oraz ogonie. Samice mają czarny dziób, czerwone upierzenie na głowie i ogonie, oraz niebieskie na klatce piersiowej i karku.

Presentano differenze sessuali, maschili-femminili, così grandi che in un primo momento sono stati classificati come specie diverse. I maschi hanno un becco color corallo, un piumaggio verde con tocchi di rosso e blu a livello delle ali e della coda. Le femmine hanno un becco nero, un piumaggio rosso sulla testa e sulla coda, e blu sul petto e sul collo.

Die Unterschiede zwischen Männchen und Weibchen sind so groß, dass es sich eigentlich um unterschiedliche Arten handelt. Die Männchen haben einen korallfarbenen Schnabel und ein grünes Gefieder mit roten und blauen Stellen an Flügeln und Schwanz. Die Weibchen haben einen schwarzen Schnabel; ihr Gefieder ist an Kopf und Schwanz rot, an Brust und Nacken blau.

Les mâles et les femelles présentent des différences sexuelles si grandes qu’on les classifiait initialement comme des espèces différentes. Les mâles ont un bec couleur corail et un plumage vert avec des touches de rouge et de bleu au niveau des ailes et de la queue. Les femelles, quant à elles, ont un bec noir et un plumage rouge au niveau de la tête et de la queue alors que les plumes de la poitrine et de la nuque sont bleues.

The males have a coral coloured beak, and green plumage with red and blue on the wings and the tail. The females have a black beak, red plumage on the head and the tail, and blue plumage on the chest and neck.

Los machos tienen el pico color coral, un plumaje verde con rojo y azul a nivel de las alas y de la cola. Scynk olbrzymi z Wysp Salomona jest największym ze znanych scynków. Charakteryzuje się olbrzymim ciałem i masywną głową z umięśnionymi szczękami. Posiada silne, ostre pazury, które pozwalają mu wspinać się po drzewach za pomocą długiego ogona chwytnego. Ma zielony kolor o żółtawym lub szarym tonie, a czasem ciemniejsze, poprzeczne pasy.

Lo scinco gigante delle Isole Salomone è lo scinco conosciuto più grande. È caratterizzato da un corpo ingombrante e da una testa solida con mascelle muscolose. Presenta artigli forti e affilati che servono per salire sugli alberi con l’aiuto della sua lunga coda prensile. Ha un colore verde con tonalità giallognole o grigiastre, e talvolta presenta strisce trasversali più scure.
