Description

Large lizard with an elongated head and neck. It presents a typical dark brown body colour with yellow spots, and the rows of stains that give the species its name, can be found touring the entire dorsal section of the body. 
The underside of the animal is also yellow. The fingers and toes have very sharp claws. The tongue is forked and blue.

Behaviour

It is diurnal and terrestrial species although sometimes we can find them in the trees thanks to theis flexibility.
The putting is of 8 - 10 eggs.

Es de las serpientes más grandes que viven en la actualidad. Su coloración es marrón rojizo con manchas dorsales  en silla en la parte anterior y triangulares en el tercio posterior; estas manchas son de color marrón negruzco o rojizas con bordes negros o blancos y sirven para el camuflaje entre el follaje del suelo. Las pupilas son verticales.

Lagarto grande cabeza y cuello alargados. Presenta una coloración corporal típicamente marrón oscura con manchas de color amarillo claro, y las hileras de manchas que ieron a la especie su nombre común se pueden encontrar recorriendo toda la sección dorsal del cuerpo. La parte inferior del animal también es de color amarillo, con una coloración más oscura moteada de forma intermitente. Los dedos de la mano y de los pies presentan unas garras bien afiladas. La lengua es bifurcada y de color azul.
