Description

C'est l'oiseau le plus grand et le plus fort au monde et, bien qu'elle ne sache pas voler, elle peut atteindre des vitesses de 70 km/h. Elles ont le cou long et la tête petite, avec de grands yeux protégés par des cils très épais. Leur bec est court et large et leurs pattes sont leurs meilleures armes. Leur genre est facilement différenciable : le mâle a le corps noir et les ailes et la queue blanche alors que la femelle a le corps marron et les ailes et la queue, de couleur blanchâtre.

The ostrich is the biggest and strongest bird in the world, although it cannot fly; it can however run at a speed of about 70 km/h. They have a long neck and small head, with large eyes protected with very thick eyelashes. The beak is short and wide and their legs are their most powerful weapons. The gender is easy to distinguish: the male’s body is black and the wings and tail white, whereas the female’s body is brown and the wings and tail a whitish colour.

Es el ave más grande y fuerte del mundo, y aunque no puede volar, corriendo alcanza los 70 km/h. Tienen el cuello largo y la cabeza pequeña, con ojos grandes y protegidos por unas pestañas muy gruesas. Su pico es corto y ancho y las patas son su arma más poderosa. Se distingue fácilmente el género: el macho tiene el cuerpo negro y las alas y la cola blancas, mientras que la hembra tiene el cuerpo marrón y las alas y cola de color blanquecino.

Dorosłe samce mają bardzo długą szyję, pokrytą gęstym i grubym owłosieniem. Mają krótki i zadarty do góry ryjek, z długimi wąsami. Samice mają bardziej smukłe ciało, węższą szyję i nie mają włosów. Sierść dorosłych lwów morskich ma jasnobrązowy kolor.  Mają małe uszy. Spędzają prawie cały czas w wodzie w której poruszają się bardzo zwinnie, po wyjściu na ląd poruszają się na 4 kończynach.

I maschi adulti hanno il collo molto lungo, ricoperto da un pelame folto e voluminoso, rispetto al resto del corpo. Il muso è corto e rivolto all’insù, ornato da grandi baffi. Le femmine hanno un aspetto più snello e aggraziato, il collo più sottile e sono prive di chioma. Il manto degli adulti è marrone chiaro. Hanno le orecchie piccole. Trascorrono quasi tutto il tempo in acqua, dove si muovono agilmente, e quando riemergono sulla terraferma, camminano con il corpo erto sui 4 membri.

Beide Geschlechter haben eine kurze, hochgezogene Schnauze, die mit langen Schnurrhaaren versehen ist, sowie kleine Ohren. Bei ausgewachsenen Männchen ist der dicke Hals  im Gegensatz zum Rest des Körpers mit dickem, grobem Fell (“Mähne”) bedeckt. Die weiblichen Tiere sind schlanker, haben einen dünneren Hals und keine Mähne. 

Verhalten

Description

Les mâles adultes ont le coup très long et recouvert d'un pelage épais et dense par rapport au reste du corps. Leur museau est court et relevé et doté de longues moustaches. Les femelles sont plus allongées et stylisées, leur cou est plus fin et sans poils. Le pelage des adultes est marron clair. Leurs oreilles sont petites. Elles passent presque tout leur temps dans l'eau où elles se déplacent rapidement et lorsqu'elles se retrouvent sur la terre ferme, elles se déplacent avec le corps relevé sur leurs 4 membres.

Adult males have a very long neck covered with a thick and dense coat as compared to the rest of the body. They have a short and raised snout, adorned with long whiskers. The females have a slightly thinner and stylised shape, with a thinner neck and no hair. The adult’s coat is light brown. They have small ears. They spend almost all the time in the water in which they are very agile and when they come on to dry land, they walk with the body standing on all four limbs.

Los machos adultos tienen el cuello muy largo cubierto de pelaje espeso y grueso con relación al resto del cuerpo. Tienen el hocico corto y levantado, adornado con largos bigotes. Las hembras tienen una forma más delgada y estilizada, el cuello más fino y carecen de melena.Tienen unas pequeñas orejas.
