Aldabra giant tortoise
Description
This giant tortoise is able to reach over a metre in length. It has a thick, domed shell, dark grey to black in colour. It has robust extremities covered with osseous scales. Its neck is very long, which allows it to reach branches one metre high. Its head is small and pointed.

Esta enorme tortuga es capaz de alcanzar más de un metro de longitud. Tiene un grueso caparazón abovedado de color gris oscuro a negro. Posee unas extremidades robustas cubiertas de escamas oseas. Su cuello es muy largo lo que le permite alcanzar las ramas que estén a un metro de altura. Su cabeza es pequeña y puntiaguda.

OPIS
Żółw śródziemnomorski jest małym żółwiem lądowym. Posiada on zaokrąglony pancerz żółtego i czarnego koloru, a także ciemną głowę z żółtymi plamami pod oczami. Na końcu ogona posiada róg, który odróżnia go od innych gatunków żółwia.
ETOLOGIA
Prowadzi dzienny tryb życia. Inkubacja jaj trwa od 90 do 124 dni i składają one od 3 do 5 jaj. Ustalenie płci zależy od temperatury inkubacji. Temperatura konieczna, w której otrzymywane jest 50% samców i 50% samic, wynosi 31,5ºC. Poniżej tej temperatury inkubacji otrzymywane są samce, a powyżej samice.

La tartaruga mediterranea è una piccola tartaruga di terra. Presenta un guscio arrotondato di colore nero e giallo, la testa è scura con alcune macchie gialle sotto gli occhi e all’estremità della coda presenta un’unghia ricurva che la differenzia dalle altre specie di tartaruga.

Jest on jednym z największych kameleonów na świecie. Jego ubarwienie jest zwykle zielonkawe z żółtawymi plamami, lecz mogą także występować osobniki o ubarwieniu od żółtego do intensywnie zielonego. Jego kask jest płaski i dużego rozmiaru, oraz zajmuje niemal całą głowę. Ponadto, samce posiadają mały róg na pysku. Jego chowany język może osiągać długość półtora razy dłuższą niż długość ciała.
