DESCRIPTION

It is a spiny lizard, its scales ending in a sharp point, especially accented on the tail. It is a lizard with a robust body, short legs and a long tail. Its colour varies from reddish brown to jet black with paler patches.

ETHOLOGY

It is a diurnal animal, living in social groups making it easier to detect danger. It is a monogamous species, the female birthing 4 to 6 hatchlings which will live with their parents for the first years.

Se trata de un lagarto espinoso,  sus escamas terminan en una punta afilada sobre todo mas acentuada  en la cola. Es un lagarto de cuerpo robusto,  patas cortas y larga cola. Tiene un color que puede ir desde el marrón rojizo a un negro azabache con parches mas pálidos. 

ETOLOGÍA

Es diurno, viven en grupo sociales donde  es más  fácil detectar el peligro. Es una especie monógama, la hembra pare de 4 a 6 crías que vivirán los primeros años con sus padres.

Jest on łatwo rozpoznawalny dzięki swoim dwóm garbom, które służą jako zbiorniki tłuszczu. Jego pysk jest podłużny i nieco trójkątny, oraz posiada on długie rzęsy, które wraz z zamykającymi się nozdrzami, pomagają zapobiec dostawaniu się kurzu podczas częstych burzy piaskowych. Poduszki ich nóg mogą rozszerzać się szeroko, gdy chodzą po piasku. Posiadają one długą grzywę i brodę z długimi włosami na szyi i gardle.

È inconfondibile perché possiede due gobbe che servono da riserva di grasso. La faccia è lunga e un po’ triangolare con lunghe ciglia che, insieme alle narici che possono sigillarsi, aiutano ad evitare la polvere in frequenti tempeste di sabbia. I cuscinetti delle zampe sono in grado di espandersi ampiamente per camminare sulla sabbia. Hanno una criniera e una barba lunga sul collo e sulla gola.

Das zweihöckrige Kamel ist unverwechselbar wegen den zwei Höckern, die als Fettreservoir dienen. Das Gesicht der Tiere ist lang und etwas dreieckig. Die langen Wimpern tragen zusammen mit den verschließbaren Nasenlöchern dazu bei, den Staub bei den häufigen Sandstürmen seines Lebensraumes fernzuhalten. Die Ballen der Füße lassen sich weit spreizen, um auf lockerem Sand laufen zu können. Die Tiere haben eine Mähne und einen Bart aus langem Haar am Hals und an der Kehle, das im Frühjahr in Streifen ausfällt.

Il se caractérise par les deux bosses qui lui servent de réservoir de graisse. Sa tête est longue et légèrement triangulaire et ses yeux sont bordés de longs cils qui lui permettent, parallèlement à ses narines qui se ferment, de se protéger de la poussière provoquée par les fréquentes tempêtes de sable. Les coussinets de ses pieds peuvent s’élargir afin de lui permettre de marcher sur le sable. Il arbore une crinière et une barbe de poils longs au niveau du cou et de la gorge.

It is unmistakable in that it has two humps that serve as a reservoir of fat. The face is long and somewhat triangular with long eyelashes which, together with nostrils that can be sealed, help to avoid dust in frequent sandstorms. The pads of their feet are able to expand widely for walking on sand. They have a mane and beard of long hair on the neck and throat, which in spring falls out in strips.

Es inconfundible por poseer dos jorobas que sirven de reservorio de grasa. La cara es larga y algo triangular con unas pestañas largas que, junto con las fosas nasales que pueden sellarse, ayudan a evitar el polvo en las frecuentes tormentas de arena. Las almohadillas de sus patas son capaces de expandirse ampliamente para caminar sobre la arena. Tienen una melena y barba de pelo largo en el cuello y la garganta, que en primavera se cae en tiras.
