Description

The brocket belongs to the deer family but it is smaller. The only difference between males and females is that the males have simple horns without branches that can measure up to 10 cm. The colours vary between a greyish brown and reddish-brown. The lower part of the tail and the belly is whitish. The fawns are a little darker, with white patches on their sides and back.

Pertenecen a la familia de los ciervos pero es más pequeño. La única diferencia entre machos y hembras es que los machos poseen unos cuernos simples sin ramificaciones que llegan a medir hasta 10 cm. La coloración varía entre pardo grisáceo y pardo rojizo. La parte inferior de la cola y el vientre son blanquecinos. Los jóvenes son más oscuros, con manchas blancas en flancos y lomo.

Dies ist die größte Wallaby-Art. Es ist gelblich-grau gefärbt, aber am Nacken etwas rötlicher. Die Pfoten, Füße, die Spitze der Schnauze und die Ränder der Ohren sind schwarz und der Bauch weiß gefärbt. Die Hinterbeine haben vier Zehen und sind sehr kräftig. Die Vorderbeine sind dagegen kurz und schwach und besitzen fünf Zehen mit langen Nägeln. Der Schwanz ist muskulös und dient dem Gleichgewicht beim Laufen oder Springen sowie als Stütze beim Gehen.

Bennett’s wallaby is the largest species of wallaby in the world. It has a yellowish grey coat, although it is slightly redder at the neck. Its hands, its feet, the point of its nose and the borders  of its ears are black. The underparts are white. Its front legs have four fingers and are robust. The back limbs are short and have five toes with long nails. The tail is strong and muscular and allows them to keep balance when running or jumping or serves as a support when walking.

Es la especie de ualabí más grande del mundo. Es de color gris amarillento, aunque algo más rojizo en la nuca. Las manos, los pies, la punta del hocico y los bordes de las orejas son negros. La zona ventral es de color blanco. Las patas posteriores con cuatro dedos, son robustas. Las extremidades anteriores son cortas y tienen cinco dedos provistos de largas uñas. La cola es musculosa y sirve para lograr el equilibrio al correr o al saltar y como soporte al andar.

Należą do rodziny mangustowatych. Mają bardzo długie i elastyczne ciało, dzięki czemu mogą wchodzić z łatwością do nor które drążą pod ziemią, wykorzystując ostre pazury na przednich kończynach. Ich futro nie jest zbyt gęste i jest krótkie, w kolorze jasnopopielatym z czarnym, poprzecznym pręgowaniem na grzbiecie. Ich wydłużony pysk służy do wąchania w otworach w poszukiwaniu pożywienia.

Appartengono alla famiglia delle manguste. Hanno un corpo allungato e flessibile, per potersi infilare nelle tane che scavano sotto terra con gli artigli che hanno nelle stremità anteriori. La pelliccia è poco abbondante e corta, color cannella a pois con strisce nere sul dorso. La faccia allungata con il naso adunco li aiuta ad annusare nelle buche.
