Description

This bird has a marked sexual dimorphism, as the males have unmistakable golden colours, whilst the females have brown plumage that allows them to escape the notice of predators. The males can measure up to over 1 m with their large tails, and they have a ruff of feathers from the back of the cheeks to the start of the back that is old gold colour, flanked by black transversal stripes.

Tiene un marcado  dimorfismo sexual ya que los machos son de colores llamativos dorados mientras que las hembras tienen un plumaje pardo que les permite pasar desapercibidas frente a los depredadores. Los machos pueden llegar a medir más de 1 m con su larga cola, y tienen un collar de plumas desde la parte posterior de las mejillas  hasta el comienzo del dorso de color oro viejo, flanqueado por bandas transversales de color negro.

Jej opierzenie ma płowy szary kolor, lotki i ogon są czarne, tak samo jak szyja. Ma dużą białą plamę na czole. Pozostałe części ciała i szyi mają czarne paski. U nasady dzioba ma zwisający przydatek w kolorze żółtym, z górnym brzegiem w kolorze czerwonym, dziób także jest żółty z czarną końcówką. Nogi są żółte i bardzo długie.

Il suo piumaggio è di colore marrone grigiastro, con le piume da volo e la coda nera, come la gola. Presenta una grande macchia bianca sulla fronte con un segno nerastro. Il resto della testa e del collo sono screziati di nero. È caratterizzata da una caruncola pendente, gialla con il bordo superiore rosso, su entrambi i lati del becco, che è anch'esso giallo con la punta nera. Le zampe sono gialle e molto lunghe.

Der Senegalkiebitz ist graubraun gefiedert, nur seine Kehle und seine Schwung- und Schwanzfedern sind schwarz. Auf der Stirn trägt er einen weißen, schwarz umrandeten Fleck. Der Rest seines Kopfes und sein Hals sind schwarz gemasert. Sein charakteristisches Merkmal sind die an beiden Seiten der Schnabelwurzel herunterhängenden gelben Hautlappen, die am oberen Rand rot gefärbt sind. Der Schnabel ist gelb mit schwarzer Spitze. Auch seine langen Beine sind gelb. 

Lebensweise

Description

Leur plumage est de couleur brune et grise, avec des plumes de vol et la queue de couleur noire comme leur gorge. Sur le front, ils ont une grande tache de couleur blanche entourée de noir. Le reste de la tête et le cou sont recouverts de noir. Ils ont une caroncule de couleur jaune cerclée de rouge qui pend des deux côtés du bec également de couleur jaune avec la pointe noire. Leurs pattes sont jaunes et très longues.

The plumage is a greyish brown, whilst its flight feathers, tail and throat are black. It has a large white patch on the forehead with a blackish frame. The rest of the head and neck are spotted black. It has a characteristic hanging wattle, which is yellow with a red upper border, on both sides of the bill, which is also yellow with a black tip. Its legs are yellow and very long.

Su plumaje es color pardo grisáceo, con las plumas de vuelo y la cola negras al igual que su garganta. Presenta una gran mancha blanca en la frente con un marco negruzco. El resto de su cabeza y cuello están veteados en negro. Se caracteriza por tener una carúncula colgante, amarilla con el borde superior rojo, a ambos lados de la base del pico, que también es amarillo con la punta negra. Sus patas son amarillas y muy largas.

Średniej wielkości ptaki, z charakterystycznymi przydatkami  w kolorze żółtym na głowie w kolorze czarnym, górna część ma kolor oliwkowy, a dolna kolor biały. Ma długie i cienkie nogi, palce połączone błoną międzypalcową, dzięki czemu może chodzić po błocie i piasku. Samice i samce są takie same, ich opierzenie nie zmienia się w różnych porach roku. Młodsze osobniki mają mniejsze przydatki głowowe.

Sono uccelli di media grandezza che possiedono una vistosa caruncola gialla sulla testa nera, con la parte superiore di colore marrone oliva e quella inferiore bianca. Le zampe sono lunghe e sottili con le dita unite da membrane interdigitali che permettono di camminare perfettamente sul fango e sulla sabbia. Entrambi i sessi sono uguali e senza variazioni stagionali. I più giovani hanno la caruncola più piccola.
