Beschreibung

 Der Kopf ist groß, breit und hat eine abgerundete Schnauze. Die Beine sind kräftig, dick und mit Schwimmhäuten versehen, mit 4 Zehen an der Vorder- und 5 Zehen an der Hinterhand. Erwachsene Tiere sind einheitlich gefärbt, in verschiedenen Grautönen bis fast schwarz, mit dunklen Streifen am Schwanz. Jungtiere haben leuchtend gelbe Streifen, die mit zunehmendem Alter verblassen.

Description

Leur tête est grande, large et leur museau est arrondi. Leurs pattes sont robustes, épaisses et palmées, avec 4 doigts aux membres supérieurs et 5 aux membres inférieurs. Les adultes ont une couleur uniforme, avec différentes teintes de gris allant jusqu'au noir et des bandes foncées sur la queue. Les jeunes ont des rayures brillantes de couleur jaune qui disparaissent avec l'âge.

It has a large, wide head with a rounded snout. The legs are strong and thick with webbed feet, with 4 toes on the front and 5 on the back. The adults have a uniform colour, with different tones of grey to black, with dark stripes on the tail. The young have bright yellow bands that disappear with age.

Małe ptaki z zaznaczonym dymorfizmem płciowym: samiec ma bardzo kolorowe pióra, upierzenie samicy jest skromne i szare. W okresie rozmnażania samiec ma na głowie ładne zielone pióra w białe pasy, oczy i dziób w kolorze czerwonym. Samica ma krótki grzebień i opierzenie w kolorze szaro-brązowym z dużą plamą w kształcie łzy.

Sono di piccole dimensioni e con uno spiccato dimorfismo sessuale. Il maschio presenta un piumaggio molto colorato rispetto al piumaggio bruno della femmina. Il maschio durante la stagione di riproduzione ha la testa di un colore verde rame con vistose frange bianche, gli occhi e il petto di colore rosso. La femmina ha una corta cresta e il piumaggio grigio marrone opaco con una grade macchia che sembra una lacrima sotto gli occhi.

Die Männchen und Weibchen dieser kleinen Enten sind deutlich unterscheidbar, denn das Männchen trägt ein vielfärbiges Federkleid während das Weibchen graubraun gefiedert ist. Der Erpel trägt während der Paarungszeit ein Prachtkleid: Sein Kopf ist kupfergrün mit zwei auffälligen weißen Streifen, seine Augen und sein Schnabel sind rot. Das Weibchen hat einen kurzen Schopf, graubraunes, mattes Gefieder und weiße, tränenförmig auslaufende Augenringe.

Ils sont de petite taille et présentent un net dimorphisme sexuel : le mâle a un plumage très coloré face au plumage brun de la femelle. Le mâle en période de reproduction a la tête de couleur vert cuivré avec des franges blanches très voyantes et leurs yeux et bec sont de couleur rouge. La femelle a une petite crête et un plumage gris marron opaque avec une grande tache qui ressemble à une larme.

They are small with a marked sexual dimorphism: the male has very colourful plumage unlike the female’s which is brown. During breeding season, the male’s head turns a copper green colour, with very distinctive white stripes, and the eyes and beak are red. The female has a short crest and the plumage is a dull grey brown colour, with a large white strip at the back of the eyes that looks like a tear.

Son pequeños y con un marcado dimorfismo sexual: el macho tiene el plumaje muy colorido frente al plumaje pardo de la hembra. El macho durante la época de reproducción tiene la cabeza de un color verde cobre con unas vistosas franjas blancas, y el ojo y el pico de color rojo. La hembra tiene una cresta corta y el plumaje gris marrón opaco con una mancha grande parecida a una lágrima en el ojo.
