Beschreibung

Sie ist eine mittelgroße Antilope mit zylindrischen, schlanken, säbelartig nach hinten gekrümmten Hörnern, die eine Länge von bis zu 120 cm erreichen können. Beide Geschlechter haben ein weißliches bis bräunliches Fell, das an der Brust, auf der Kruppe und an den Flanken rotbraun ist, und graubraune Gesichtszeichnungen. Die Kälber sind hellbraun mit weißer Unterseite und schwarzer Schwanzspitze.

C'est une antilope de taille moyenne, avec des cornes cylindriques, fines et courbées vers l'arrière en forme de cimeterre qui peuvent atteindre 120 cm de long. Mâles et femelles sont de couleur blanchâtre à marron clair avec le poitrail, la croupe et les flancs tirant à marron rougeâtre et des marques sur la tête de couleur marron grisâtre. Les petits naissent marron clair avec l'abdomen blanc et la pointe de la queue de couleur noire.

This is a mid-sized antelope, with cylindrical and narrow horns that curve backward in the shape of a scimitar, reaching lengths of 120 cm. Both sexes are whitish to light brown, with the breast, rump and flanks a reddish brown, and with greyish brown marks on the face. The calves are light brown with a white belly and the tip of the tail is black.

Es un antílope de tamaño mediano, con los cuernos cilíndricos, delgados y curvados hacia atrás en forma de cimitarra, los cuales pueden alcanzar los 120 cm de longitud. Ambos sexos son de color blancuzco a marrón claro, con el pecho, la grupa y los flancos marrón rojizo, y con marcas faciales marrón grisáceas. Las crías son marrón claro con el abdomen blanco y la punta de la cola negra.

Ta duża antylopa ma sierść w kolorze szaro-brązowym, podbrzusze ma kolor jaśniejszy. Ogon jest długi i czarny. Sierść na pysku, nogach i bokach ciała ma kolor ciemnobrązowy,  kolor ten oddziela szarą sierść na kręgu od jaśniejszej sierści na podbrzuszu. Jest to silne i umięśnione zwierzę, na białych nogach widoczne są czarne łaty w części przedniej. Najważniejsza charakterystyka tych zwierząt to ich długie rogi, które mogą mierzyć do 85 cm, u samców są proste a u samic zakrzywione.

Quest’antilope di grossa taglia presenta un manto di colore marrone-grigiastro, con la zona ventrale più chiara. La coda è lunga e nera. Una frangia marrone scuro ricopre mento, zampe e fianchi, separando il grigio della parte dorsale dalla parte ventrale più chiara. Il collo e le spalle sono muscolosi e le zampe sono bianche, con chiazze nere nella parte frontale, ma ciò che davvero contraddistingue questo animale sono le lunghe corna, che possono raggiungere gli 85 cm e che nei maschi sono dritte, mentre nelle femmine sono ricurve.

Diese große Antilope hat ein graubraunes, am Bauch helleres Fell sowie einen langen, schwarzen Schwanz.. Entlang des Kinns, der Beine und der Flanken verläuft ein dunkelbrauner Streifen, der das Grau des Rückens von den helleren Bauchpartien trennt. Was diese Tiere jedoch am meisten kennzeichnet, sind ihre langen Hörner, die bis zu 85 cm messen können und bei den Männchen gerade und bei den Weibchen gebogen sind.

This large antelope has a greyish brown coat with a lighter colour in the underparts. Its tail is long and black. A dark brown strip runs from the chin to the legs and along the flanks, separating the grey on the back from the lighter underparts. But what really characterises these animals are the long horns that can measure up to 85 cm and which are straight in males and curved in females.

Este antílope de gran tamaño posee un pelaje de color marrón grisáceo con la zona ventral más clara. Su cola es larga y de color negro. Una franja marrón oscura se extiende por la barbilla, patas y por los flancos, separando el gris de la parte dorsal de las partes ventral más clara. Pero lo que realmente caracteriza a estos animales son sus largos cuernos que pueden medir hasta 85 cm y que en los machos son rectos mientras que en las hembras son curvos.
